A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“A great place to stay when visiting Roseberry Topping. The pub itself is lovely and well maintained. Parking is available, though it’s only free if you register your vehicle at the bar. We stayed overnight and found the room clean and comfortable. It was located on the ground floor, but unfortunately there was a noisy family in the room above, with banging in the early hours. We were up early anyway, but it would have made a lie-in difficult. The dinner menu was somewhat limited. We chose the pies, which initially had to be sent back as they weren’t hot. However, this was quickly resolved by a friendly and apologetic waitress. Overall, the food was tasty, and breakfast the next morning was excellent.”
“Lovely stay here meeting family. Dog friendly hotel and restaurant. Staff are lovely and helpful. Room was nice with lively views. Although room was VERY hot. Fan was helpful but maybe leave the bathroom door/window open where possible. Would definitely come back again”
“Popped in with my daughters after a climb up Roseberry Topping. The girls had children’s sausage and mash and the sausages were great. I had a bacon cheese burger and it was perfectly cooked, and the burger sauce was fantastic. Had a pint of staropramen and you could tell the beer lines were well kept. All in all, will absolutely be visiting after every climb”
“A great find this. We were walking the Cleveland Way and used The Kings Head for one of our overnight stays. Staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms comfortable and food and service great. About a mile down off the main path with an optional detour to the top of Roseberry Topping which is worth the effort for the view, and also requires a bit of work to get back to the CW the following morning via Brant Gate path ie skirting around the hill...but well worth it all for the Kings Head. I would definitely recommend. Thank you.”
